32 years ago I was sleeping in my parents' car, parked in my grandfather's backyard and well away from any tall buildings. A couple of hours before that, we had left our 4th floor flat because of an earthquake - but nothing serious had really happened in my home town (which is more than 50km away from the epicentre), and several years passed before I fully realized the importance of the event (I was 5...).
This impressive simulation created by the HCI Lab took me back to the first time I saw the images on TV. And began to understand.

The simulation is really well done but I would be afraid even now.. just to look at it.

It is scary, indeed. Have you ever lived in a seismic area, or witnessed an earthquake?
