Nice concept - the digital tattoo, or the way in which inconsidered choices you made when publishing things will affect your online identity for a long time - and possibly forever:
Just like a tattoo, your digital reputation is an expression of yourself. It's highly visible, and hard to remove.
I have seen "footprint" used with the same meaning, but "tattoo" - evoking teenage enthusiasm for audacious self-branding - is deeper.
