Last Saturday, the White House announced the launch of Recovery.org, the U.S. government's official website providing access to information on how the Recovery Act money is spent and allowing for the report of potential fraud, waste, and abuse. As if it were meant to set an example, the site is built with Drupal - an Open Source solution distributed under the GPS v.2 licence.
On techPresident, a few less obvious reasons for which the adoption of this tool matter.
Moreover, the project itself is an impressive example of transparency and the fact that it's not just about making information available - it has to be made easily accessible as well.
