Get safe online

240x400_03_v2Basic knowledge about online security is a cornerstone of digital citizenship, so I welcome any initiative in this sense.

 Today I learned about the Get Safe Online Week – an initiative founded by UK institutions and a few business partners – I took the self-assessment test, covering familiarity with ordinary online operations and basic knowledge about online transactions and IT security. Some of the questions are exceedingly easy, such as the one about activating virus protection – which includes a very clear visual hint (green marks the right answer, red the wrong one…), but it is nonetheless an excellent initiative.

As the Italian public administration seems to be taking some tangible steps towards widespread use of ICT, wouldn't be a good idea to create a similar initiative in Italy?
