At last, an article written by Massimo Auci that takes care of the fears created by the LHC startup on September, 10 – without the subtly mischievous fear-provoking attitude shown by some newspaper articles (and not just in Italy) but, at the same time, without mocking those who just happen to ignore the subtleties of what a Higgs boson is, or how the Large Hadron Collider works, and have expressed a moderate, half-joking (e.g. here and here) state of worry.
