I was wrong… but I’m not alone

I must admit: despite wishing it, I didn’t believe that I would easily come across an example of fact-checking Italian journalism. But then I remembered a very good article, pointing out (and ruthlessly correcting) a long list of claims made by political leaders during the  2006 election campaign. I checked it back on Lavoce.info, just to discover that while it didn’t evolve into a regular periodic column, it had nonetheless a couple of very interesting sequels:

  • an analysis of an exaggerated estimate of the economic consequences of the constitutional reform scraped away by the 2006 referendum, made during the campaign by Eugenio Scalfari on La Repubblica;
  • an attempt to clarify some vague claims made by Fabio Mussi (Minister of University and Research) about the international ranking of Italian Universities.

Good job!
