Blogging the election/The day after

Back to business as usual…

It’s been an exciting couple of days at SWG. The enthusiasm is slowly wearing out, leaving just the time in between to assimilate this strange result.

Not surprising but nonetheless strange, in my opinion, because disaffection towards the incumbent Prodi government proved stronger than the disappointment coming from the previous 5 years, when Berlusconi had already ruled with a large majority (and failed to deliver the promises he had made). So much stronger, that it made it impossible for Veltroni to fight back effectively.

I am still curious about the results of local elections, especially in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Sicily, where a civic list endorsed by Beppe Grillo was present: my attention is on finding out whether the blank ballots ratio is different in the general election versus the local (Grillo has invited his readers to boycott the general election).

As for the number of votes in Sicily, the friends of Beppe Grillo list has obtained an unimpressive 2.4%
