There is an old stereotype about women, "the housewife coming from Voghera": back to the ’70s, Nanni Moretti – the well known film director – revamped this remarkable stereotype, adding a political twist about  and the difficulty encountered by leftwing politicians to express views that could be appreciated by this archetypal figure (if I remember correctly, there was a slight mutation and the housewife relocated to Treviso).

Therefore, we are discussing the "housewives vote for Berlusconi" commonplace stereotype, seeing that it is basically true. An interesting caveat is that the professional status, in this domain, has a stronger influence than scholarity level.
